Ash's chip actually backs off timing when a problem condition is detected, whereas the JWT chip will keep using the same timing maps. When using a boost controller, you will not drop into safety boost with either chip. But Ash's will back off timing and you are able to feel the loss in power, whereas the JWT chip will not and you will keep on driving obliviously. Next, Ash's ecu also backs off the timing in 5th gear when the engine is under a lot of load, again protecting the engine. The JWT ecu does not. I'm not trying to be 'Ash's chip is best, get it' person that just replies it's better all the time with no explanation. From what I've seen and heard about the ECUs, Ash's does seem better and safer. I know him personally, but I'm only saying this because I believe it to honestly be a better chip not just because we know each other. Kez
